Peru is a developing country located in the middle of South America, along the Pacific Ocean. A country with breath-taking scenery and rich history, having been the hub of the Inca Empire , today it has a population of 27 million.
Lima, the capital, has a population of about 12 million, with a
unemployment and under-employment rate over 50%. Lima is growing rapidly due to
people coming from all over the country looking for opportunity and work to
sustain life.
As a result, the government finds itself overwhelmed. This situation has created extremely poor shantytowns on the outskirts of the city.
Children and the disabled are specially in need, with a great number of them undernourished and with little or no access to medical care, education, decent housing, nor employment opportunities.
It is our purpose to show our love and compassion to those less fortunate. We
believe in helping empower others to help themselves. Whether purchasing new
clothing items for the needy or building structures, it is our hope to show God's
love in every aspect of our time with His children in other countries.
REMEMBER, IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO HELP IN ANYWAY WITH FUTURE MISSION TEAMS, PLEASE CONTACT THE CHURCH OFFICE AT THE INFORMATION ABOVE.
